The show's host appeared on Lorraine today, where he let us in on a secret...
Dermot O’Leary has revealed something unexpected about viewers’ X Factor votes.
The 43-year-old appeared on Lorraine today, where he confessed that he’s privy to some very interesting inside knowledge.
He said: ‘I get trickled little information which I can feed to people,’ before quickly adding: ‘You know, in the show.
‘The stats that I do know is that everyone in the final three has finished top of the voting chart at some point through the series and they have all also finished bottom at one point or another.’
It’s been a huge week for Dermot and X Factor finalists Matt Terry, Saara Aalto and 5 After Midnight.
The winner of the series will be revealed this weekend, and by the sounds of it, all three are still in the running to nab that coveted record contract.
They’ve been out on the road campaigning over the past few days, which has included a trip to their respective home towns.
Matt and his mentor Nicole Scherzinger headed to Bromley, while Louis Walsh joined 5 After Midnight in Leicester.
But unfortunately for Saara, Sharon Osbourne couldn’t make it to Helsinki, Finland, leaving Dermot to go in her place.

Now he’s explained why, telling Lorraine: ‘Mrs O couldn’t make it and they wanted someone to go out so I said yes.
‘10,000 people turned up which is incredible – the gig was in their version of Trafalgar Square.
‘When we got to the airport, there were loads of people there and because the show is played out there, people even recognised me.’
Ooh. We’re already excited for Saturday night…
