David Beckham Is Tipped For Royal Honour

David Beckham and wife Victoria could soon be known as Lord and Lady Beckham, if reports are true that David’s name has been put forward for the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List.

The Sun on Sunday has alleged that Becks is set to be knighted in early 2014 for his services to football and charity.

While the dad-of-four already has an OBE that was awarded to him in 2003, the knighthood would reflect his contribution to football over the past two decades as well as his commitment to charitable causes.

It is thought David’s close pal Prince William – the Duke of Cambridge recently called on David to help him with his United for Wildlife partnership – will perform the ceremony rather than the Queen.

And of course, this would mean a new title for Victoria, too. We always thought Lord and Lady Beckham suited the couple…
