David Beckham really is one helluva dad.
The 40-year-old is known for being a family man, and now it’s even more clear how fiercely protective he is of his kids.
He’s hit back at his son Brooklyn’s critics, after the 17-year-old was slammed for being chosen to photograph Burberry’s latest campaign.
The decision was labelled as ‘nepotism’ by both fans and fellow photographers. However, that did NOT sit well with David.
He tells US GQ: ‘We’ve always protected our children but we’ve always been honest with them, as well: “There’re going to be things said about you, about us, that aren’t true.”
‘We know he’s going to make his mistakes – and we know he’ll have opportunities because of us.
‘But he’s making opportunities for himself, too. So far we’ve been very lucky that he’s found a passion. Whether people believe it or not, he’s got talent.
‘He’s got a great eye – and proven that in the images he’s taken.’
David and his wife Victoria are proud parents to four children. Brooklyn is the eldest, followed by Romeo, 13, Cruz, 11, and four-year-old Harper.
But despite being keen to stand up for his offspring, David isn’t quite so bothered about what people think of him.

He continues: ‘Some things get said and then you just laugh about it. I work hard for my money. I’m not going to give it away on legal fees all the time.
‘There are certain battles that you pick. When they’re not worth picking, they’re laughable stories.’
