The TOWIE star has had his own say after Danielle's emotional exit on last night's TOWIE Essexmas special..
Last night’s TOWIE Christmas special was always going to be an emotional one, but it was made that much worse by the fact that it was Danielle Armstrong’s last ever show.
The The Only Way Is Essex star announced that she’d be quitting earlier this month after three years on the show, much to her fans’ dismay. And last night’s Essexmas special saw Dani and her ex James Lock have one seriously emotional showdown.
After revealing she’d been dating someone new, Dani then found herself in a tense argument with James at Megan McKenna’s Christmas party as he criticised her for moving on with someone he knew.
‘See this is why we can’t be around each other, we’ve been through so much and I thought I was going to spend my life with you’, Dani was seen telling James as she announced that she felt she needed to leave the show for good .
‘It’s hard when all of our friends are so close, I feel like I’ve lost my best friend- but I think it’s for the best I leave.’
But whilst many women were applauding Danielle for her maturity, tonnes of others were slamming her decision (for purely selfish reasons). Because Dani, everyone’s going to miss you.

‘Absolutely gutted @Daniarmstrong88 is leaving #TOWIE literally my fave girl on the show, I wish you every piece of luck Dani,in the future❤️’, one fan tweeted.
‘If @Daniarmstrong88 is leaving #towie is there any point in even having it anymore. Danielle don’t leave!’, said another.
A third wrote: ‘Can’t believe she’s not going to be in it😭 @Daniarmstrong88 you’ll be missed 😭💕🌸 #towie’.
And of course, tongues have been wagging about who Dani’s mystery man is… Introducing, ex-footballer Daniel Spiller.
The pair are thought to have met when Dani was still dating Lockie, but it’s unknown when they officially started dating. And Daniel’s certainly a catch, having previously played for Millwall and now having invested his earnings into becoming an entrepreneur.
He now works as a health and business coach.
And Lockie had his own say on social media after last night’s showdown, tweeting cryptically: ‘Blood is thicker than water!! Family & friends above all else!! 👊🏼 #TOWIE’.
We just really hope these two manage to find a way to stay friends.
