The Critics’ Choice Awards is always a big night for movie buffs. But this year’s awards show was completely stolen by one particular nine-year-old.
Jacob Tremblay was just one of the deserving winners to collect a gong, but his adorable acceptance speech made sure that it was his name that was left on everyone’s lips.
Jacob, who stars in the highly anticipated on-screen depiction of Room, won Best Young Actor on Sunday night.
He gushed, ‘This is super cool. This is the best day of my life.’
Winning over the crowd with his incredible humility, little Jacob went on, ‘It must be a super hard vote because of all the other great actors in this category’.
Too sweet, huh?
In quite possibly the cutest line ever to be said in an acceptance speech, he told the audience: ‘I know where to put this: on the shelf, right beside my Millennium Falcon’.
Room is based on the popular 2010 book by Emma Donoghue, which tells the powerful story of a mother and child who are kept as prisoners.
The film has been nominated for four Academy Awards, including best actress, best director and best picture.
