Why We’re All Talking About Chrissy Teigen’s Dress From The AMAs

We mean, she looked AMAZING. But we don't really know where to look...

Last night was the 2016 American Music Awards, which was hosted by comedian Jay Pharoah and all round ‘It’ girl Gigi Hadid.

When we managed to tear our eyes away from the absolutely gorgeous Gigi for a split second, we admired some of the other glamorous red carpet looks of the night.

We loved Hailee Steinfield’s shimmering, emerald playsuit and Selena Gomez’s elegant red Prada dress, but we especially loved Chrissy Teigen donning the mother of all thigh splits in her fierce AF black ensemble.

Forever the queen of witty humour on Twitter, Chrissy revealed a little bit about her outfit prior to the show, tweeting ‘I shaved above the knee today so yes it is a big day today. #AMAs’

Walking the red carpet with hubby John Legend, Chrissy wore a stunning black dress with stacked, mixed metal jewellery. The dress breathed new life into the meaning of the words ‘thigh split’, and we kind of love her for it.

Please never stop being fearless and sassy, Chrissy!

Risqué dresses don’t go without their hazards, and Ms Teigen found her thigh split threatening to expose her as she strutted along the carpet…. Oops.

Holding her dress down to conceal her nether regions, Chrissy somehow still managed look like an absolute babe and John looked as cool as ever whilst still managing to keep half an eye on Chrissy’s dress…

Talk about #relationshipgoals. Sigh.

At the award ceremony, Chrissy introduced John’s performance on stage and, naturally, didn’t manage to hold back the swear words.

She said, ‘This next performer is a brilliant musician and a wonderful father, who makes a pretty damn good breakfast sandwich,” she said. “He has been known to write love songs about me. What can I say, I’m very inspiring.

‘But his songs are bigger than either of us,’ she continued.  ‘And on the heels of what’s been a really interesting, f***ed up f***ing election for all of us, we can all use a little love tonight.’

Keeping it real, as always.

John’s performance was (obviously) beautiful and the AMAs was basically a big reminder of how much we freaking love Chrissy and John.
