Cheryl Fernandez-Versini isn’t about to let anybody diss her family.
The 32-year-old is famously close to mum Joan Callaghan, and they often spend time together when Cheryl has time off from work.
It was one of those occasions last Wednesday, when the pair headed out in London for Chezza’s pal Lily England’s 30th birthday party.
As expected for a party, they were joined by a group of people at the bash, including Cheryl’s new man Liam Payne.
It’s safe to say that Cheryl and Liam looked pretty happy together, holding hands and grinning widely as they went matchy-matchy in all-black outfits. Adorbs!
But despite their seemingly lovely evening in the capital, Cheryl was left wanting to clear up one issue on Twitter.
After it was suggested that Joan had ‘crashed’ her and Liam’s date night, she reiterated the fact that they were actually at a birthday bash.
Chezza wrote: ‘Just an FYI ..I wasn’t out last night for a “romantic dinner” I was out celebrating @Lily_England 30th birthday with everyone we love #facts.’
She then added: ‘There have been a lot of unfair comments about my Mam today and I have to clear a few things up in her defence.
‘While I am extremely close to my Mam and respect her entirely, she does not and never has had any influence in any of my relationships [sic].

‘As a 32 year old woman I make my own decisions and choices and take full responsibility for them. To portray her the way some stories have today is wholeheartedly unfair, hurtful and untrue.’
We hear you, lady. And how lovely that Liam’s already getting to know the parents?!
