Cheryl Cole Defends Her Very Cheeky New Tattoo

Cheryl Cole revealed the full extent of that huge rose back tattoo when artist Nikko Hurtado shared a snap of the singer’s backside over the weekend (see above).

Californian-based tattooist Nikko showed off the results of over eight months of ‘intense’ inkmanship when he posted an Instagram photo of Cheryl’s pert posterior completely covered in his rosy designs. “Here is a in progress shot of a tattoo I’ve been covering up and reworking. Really excited to show healed shots. It was some intense tattooing sessions. She’s tough as nails,” he wrote.

Cheryl’s gigantic lower back tatt raised enough eyebrows as it was when it was given its first airing at the Girls Aloud Tour back in February, so the star’s inky new extension has, understandably, provoked quite a reaction. But never one to keep quiet in the face of her critics, Lady Cole’s jumped to the defence of her cheeky new tatt…

“I have personal meaning behind it but English roses are my favourite flowers,” the 30-year-old tweeted using the hashtags “#selfexpression” and “#art”. “People are entitled to their own opinion. Personally I’ve never really concerned myself with other people’s body parts!”

Love it or hate it, at a whopping £250 an hour, it’s a good job Chezza’s happy with Nikko’s handiwork. “The guy is a genius, a true artist and he helped me to cope a lot because I felt like I was in very safe hands”, she added about her professional doodling pal.

It’s a bold look, we’ll give her that. But what do you think of Cheryl’s backside bodywork? Let us know below!
