Caroline Flack Will Host Xtra Factor With New Boy Matt Richardson

Caroline Flack is going to have to get used to a new flirting partner when she hosts this year’s Xtra Factor, as it’s been announced that her long-term BFF and on-screen other half Olly Murs has officially been replaced by comedian Matt Richardson.

If you didn’t recognise Matt at first glance, don’t worry – neither did we. But the 21-year-old has been performing on the stand up comedy circuit for two years now, so we’re expecting lots of LOLs. “I cannot describe how excited I am to be joining The Xtra Factor,” he told Digital Spy. “Working with Caroline and the rest of the team will be an incredible experience and I will do my best to be as good as I possibly can, because I’m never going to be as gorgeous as Olly Murs.” See, he’s already at it…

As for Mr Murs, he’s stepping down to focus on his music career. But that didn’t stop the Troublemaker singer from feeling a little jealous when his replacement was announced yesterday. “Hugely gutted I’m not doing @XtraFactor this year.. Me & caz had such a wicked time together.. Just wanna focus on Music this year!!”, he tweeted.

“I’ll be back on the show for sure to tease & annoy @carolineflack1 but very happy for Mr @MattRichardson3 seems a great guy & very funny!!x”

We’re excited to see new boy Matt work his magic on camera. But the cheeky chappy may have to curb that comedic tongue in front of new co-host Caroline, as he’s been used to using her and One Direction’s Harry Styles‘ age-gap relationship as fodder for his comedy routines. Eek!

In a YouTube video from last year, Matt’s seen talking about his youthful looks. “You are just sat there going, ‘F**k, he’s 12… this is the s**ttest One Direction tribute band I’ve ever seen'”, he says.

When a female audience member laughs, the comedic continues: “One woman orgasmed there, obviously a Harry Styles fan. Could have been Caroline Flack.”

Yes Matt, we bet she’s never heard that one before…
