BRITs 2013: Read LOOK’s Behind-The-Scenes Blog!

What’s better than watching the BRIT Awards 2013? Attending the event itself, mingling with celebs and sneaking backstage, of course.

LOOK was lucky enough to be invited to the bash at the O2 Arena last night and we saw all the action from inside the ceremony, live as it happened.

With our best heels on, lashes and lipstick applied, we hopped on the tube to the O2 Arena (where we also saw Nick Grimshaw, flanked by a whopping entourage) to go and breathe the same air as Justin Timberlake, Harry Styles and Robbie Williams. It. Was. Amazing.

Arriving at the arena, we were welcomed by huge screams from the red carpet, where JT was rocking a Tom Ford suit (obvs), Jessie J braved the freezing cold in a plunging Versace dress and Taylor Swift showed Harry Styles what he’s missing in a stunning Elie Saab gown.

A quick de-tour backstage and we were met by a cheery Ed Sheeran and a very popular Tinie Tempah.

Muse put on an incredible opening performance, wowing us with some amazing stage sparks and flames. But while our ears were peeled to the band, our eyes were panning the room for any secret action. We saw Ne-Yo chatting away to Conor Maynard, who later told us that the US star had invited him out partying, but then left the venue without him… awks. We also saw Ne-Yo dancing his way to the loo during the ad break. As you do.

Celebs were told to keep their speeches short and snappy (nice work, Adele) and were later told off for staring at James Corden‘s autocue while the cameras were rolling. Whoops!

Carey Mulligan caught our eye when she was swilling the free champagne, rubbing the back and shoulders of her Mumford & Sons hubby, Marcus. There was definitely some neck-nuzzling action going on, too.

We spied the Little Mix girls have a good old gossip outside the loos and caught Jessie J having a right old chinwag with Leigh Francis and Caroline Flack amongst the tables.

Justin Timberlake was too amazing for words, while One Direction left us feeling pretty excited (and very ashamed of our crushes) when they performed their new Comic Relief single, One Way Or Another. Emeli Sande and Ben Howard were the biggest winners of the night, beating off some seriously stuff competition from the industry’s finest in their respective categories.

Robbie Williams showed off his HAWT new bod in a blue suit and was joined at the bash by his BFF Jonathan Wilkes. But he was also spotted bromancing Louis Smith backstage – the pair even broke into a quick rendition of Angels. Aah!

After much squealing and jaw dropping during the ceremony, we headed down to the celebs’ tables, where we cosied up to Tinie Tempah (yum), Conor Maynard (yum – don’t judge) and chatted to the gorgeous Alexa Chung as she topped up her (Sisley) lippy.
