The UK’s decision to leave the European Union has had an unexpected impact on TV fans.
Understandably, the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 are all scrambling to keep the publc up to date with the latest Brexit goings-on. But do you know what? Not everyone’s that thrilled about it.
Keen fans of This Morning sat down with a cuppa to tune in to their favourite breakfast show at 10.30am this morning, only to find that Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield were nowhere to be seen.
And a quick glance at Twitter soon explained why.
‘Due to the #Brexit vote, @ITV will be airing rolling news coverage this morning and there will be no live Loose Women today’, the channel tweeted.
Never mind Loose Women – people seemed far more devastated at the great big Holly and Phil shaped hole in their morning.
‘#thismorning Phil and Holly become the 1st casualties of #Brexit’, one fan tweeted.
‘Hitting home how big this day is… ITV have cancelled This Morning and Loose Women… Jesus, what have we done’, quipped another.
Whilst another Twitter user felt more sorry for her mum: ‘How’s my mum upset that the ITV referendum results coverage has replaced the usual This Morning programme’, they wrote.
LOL. Take a big breath, guys – they’ll be back on Monday…
