After Brendan Cole announced his return to Strictly Come Dancing after a lung infection, viewers of It Takes Two expressed concerns about how healthy he was looking...
Brendan Cole will be back on tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing after a week off from the BBC dancing show – but he’s caused concern amongst his fans.
The professional dancer was recently taken to hospital after being hit with a lung infection, leaving partner Anastacia to dance with Gorka Marquez on last weekend’s show.
However, Brendan will be back performing once again tonight, after admitting he’s feeling strong enough to tackle the dancefloor.
‘I’m definetely on the mend’, he said on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two. ‘I’m really looking forward to this jive!’
‘It probably did me good to get the lungs working’, he added.
The 40-year-old added that there was no need to worry about his health, after many Strictly fans expressed concern about his absence from the show last week.
‘It was a lung infection that was all’, he added. ‘I’m back in the game and I’m looking forward to it.’ Anastacia then added that she was ‘super impressed’ with his recovery.
However, viewers watching It Takes Two didn’t seem as convinced, and tweets soon flooded in expressing concern about Cole’s health.
‘Brendan still doesn’t look right, hope he’s okay #ItTakesTwo’, one posted.
‘Poor Brendan still looks a bit peaky, someone get him a spray tan #ItTakesTwo’, said another.
‘Watching #ItTakesTwo and don’t think Brendan looks very well, hope he’s really ok’, a third piped up.
Brendan shared his excitement at returning to the show earlier this week, posting a behind-the-scenes shot of rehearsals and writing: ‘Just had the most incredible welcome from my fellow @bbcstrictly Pro’s at pro rehearsal this morning. Great to be back with you all!’
Aw. We’re sure Brendan wouldn’t come back unless he felt he was truly ready for it, so we’re fully behind him. Plus, we can’t WAIT to see what spooky Halloween treats they all have in store for us tonight…
