Beyonce truly earned her “Queen B” nickname last night, performing an incredible half-time set the the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
Bey had been teasing us with rehearsal images for weeks and last night belted out her biggest hits at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome before welcoming her Destiny’s Child bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland to the stage.
Dressed in a leather leotard and knee-high boots, the singer kicked off with Love On Top, following with Crazy In Love and Run The World. She was joined by Michelle and Kelly for a medley of Bootylicious and Independent Women before breaking into Single Ladies. She finished off her set with Halo.
Following the amazing set, she posted a message to Instagram, saying: “What a proud day for African American Women!!! Kelly, Michelle, Alicia, Jhud. You are all beautiful, talented and showed so much class! It was an honour to perform at the Super Bowl with you phenomenal ladies. Love, Beyonce.”
Bey’s BFF Michelle Obama tweeted after her half-time show: “Watching the #SuperBowl with family & friends. @Beyonce was phenomenal! I am so proud of her! -mo.”
And if that wasn’t enough to make Bey the coolest lady in showbiz, snaps have emerged of her running into her hubby Jay-Z’s arms backstage.
Amazing. Roll on the BRITs… RM
