After Scarlett was accused of some pretty awful things on social media, Betty's hit back...
Scarlett Moffatt’s mum has hit back at jibes about the TV star being a ‘bully’.
Betty Moffatt – who appears on Gogglebox with her daughter and recently flew to Australia to support her – is sticking up for the 26-year-old on social media.
According to the Daily Mirror, she wrote on Facebook: ‘Scarlett does daft stuff and lacks common sense but she’s not someone to tear other people down.’
So where did these ‘bullying’ claims stem from?
Well, following a row with fellow campmate Martin Roberts earlier this week, Scarlett faced quite a bit of negative backlash on social media.
Her run-in with the Homes Under The Hammer presenter began when he failed to fetch the water. Well, she was the vice president of the jungle, and had assigned him the task.
It all got a little bit fraught, and Scarlett ended up in tears. Larry Lamb – who’s been on hand to help the TV personality since day one (aw) – wasted no time in comforting her.
But for some, the damage had been done.
Negative tweets included: ‘@imacelebrity lovin the “friendly” campers but #Scarlettmoffatt is being bully now!’ and ‘@ScarlettMoffatt is the most manipulative person in the camp. Her bullying of Martin makes me sick. #stopbullying. #imacelebrity [sic].’
Scarlett’s previously opened up about her own experiences at the hand of bullies, so we very much doubt that she would try to make someone else feel the same way intentionally.
Let’s hope everything’s calmed down a bit now.
