If you watched Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday, you’ll already know what an amazing talent Beau Dermott is.
The 12-year-old wowed the judges when she belted out her rendition of Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked, even earning a push of the golden buzzer from Amanda Holden.
But unfortunately for Beau, she’s since been accused of ‘cheating’ her way onto the show.
Before her performance in front of the panel, Beau told Amanda, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams that she was nervous.
But a source – who’d apparently previously seen Beau sing at a local talent contest – has since claimed to the Daily Mirror: ‘She has loads of singing experience and is nowhere near as nervous as they are making out.
‘She’s talkative backstage, well spoken and far from nervous when she hits the stage.’
Referencing allegations that Beau’s also had coaching from a theatre academy, they continued: ‘It’s not as if she’s only had a few singing lessons – far from it – she’s a polished performer who’s clearly very comfortable on stage.’
However, both Beau’s family and BGT have hit back at these suggestions.
Her dad Ian says: ‘People are saying she’s been in theatre school for five years – she hasn’t. It might be once a month, it might be once in three months. She’s never done any productions for them.

‘You’ve got to use local talent shows to build their confidence up. It would be crazy to put your child on to a stage like BGT without knowing they can do it. You’d be hanging them out to dry.’
A Britain’s Got Talent spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘This story is ridiculous. Beau had singing lessons once a month for the past four years at Stage Pro Academy.
‘Just because she has had singing lessons, it doesn’t mean that she doesn’t get nervous when performing as was stated on the show.
‘Adele, who is the biggest selling artist in the world, suffers from nerves when performing, so it’s not surprising to think that Beau would as well, especially given that she is a 12-year-old schoolgirl.’
We just think it’s great that someone as talented as Beau is getting the attention she deserves. So we’re sending you lots of good luck wishes, lady!
