Anastacia Writes An Emotional Note To Fans After Her Strictly Exit

'I wanted to embark on this journey to show that being a cancer survivor does not stop you achieving your dreams'

Anastacia has penned an emotional Instagram post about her Strictly Come Dancing exit.

The 48-year-old singer and her partner Brendan Cole were sent home after a tense dance-off with Daisy Lowe and Aljaž Škorjanec on last night’s results show.

But instead of feeling bitter about her elimination, Anastacia has said: ‘I entered Strictly Come Dancing to reconnect with my femininity and with who I am as a woman. Not only have I done that, I have also made the most incredible friends and met the most wonderful people working on this show.

‘I have learnt so much about myself as a woman, and as a dancer, and hopefully throughout this process raised awareness for @CR_UK. I wanted to embark on this journey to show that being a cancer survivor does not stop you achieving your dreams.

‘I have loved every moment and wish the rest of the Strictly family the very best of luck, I will be watching from the wings every week cheering on all my new friends.

I cannot say thank you enough to Brendan and Gorka for being my dancing partners – I feel so lucky to have been able to dance with you both. Keep dancing. Anastacia has battled and beaten breast cancer twice in the past, and she’s previously explained that her Strictly fee will be given to a breast cancer charity.

So despite her being out of the competition, we still think she’s pretty damn amazing.

She and Brendan received 25 points from the judges for their Jive to Meat Loaf’s Bat Out Of Hell on Saturday night, leaving them at the bottom of the leaderboard.

But there’s one person who doesn’t seem to think their placing was entirely fair – Brendan’s wife Zoe Cole.

She Tweeted: ‘Very random scoring tonight! #strictly.’

In reference to the chest infection Brendan was recently suffering with, Zoe said: ‘What dance do you give someone with pneumonia? I know. A jive! Poor @BrendanCole good job baby. #strictly.’
