Alex Mytton's pal Akin Solanke-Caulker is set to shake things up in SW3...
Prepare yourself for an abundance of fancy dinner parties, awkward double dates and Mark-Francis being generally outrageous, because it’s almost time for another series of Made In Chelsea.
If we weren’t excited enough about the permanent return of our favourite unlikely heartthrob, Francis Boulle, it’s now been revealed that king of the man bun, Oliver Proudlock, will also be making his Chelsea comeback.
And the great news doesn’t end there, as a brand new boy is also set to make his mark on London this Autumn – in the form of Alex Mytton’s best friend (and fellow party boy) Akin Solanke-Caulker.
Akin – who grew up in East London – is the first black cast member of the E4 series, and we’re seriously looking forward to his MIC debut.
Speaking about his new venture, Akin tells The Sun: ‘It’s definitely overdue, they need a black person on the show; my mum keeps saying I’m representing.
‘I’m not just representing myself but I’m representing other people that look like me, not just the racial side of things but also people who are from where I am from.’
With fans still mourning the loss of Chelsea favourites Lucy Watson and Spencer Matthews – who’ve both announced they won’t be returning to the show – Akin has some pretty big shoes to fill, but he’s confident he’s up to the challenge.
He continues: ‘I’m quite similar to Spencer in that it’s not hard for me to vocalise what I’m feeling. I am definitely a playboy but I’ll try not to be on screen for the sake of my family. I’ve been single for the last eight years but I’m not a complete savage.’
It seems that he and Spencer even have the same taste in women, with Akin adding: ‘The closest to my target is probably Louise Thompson, she’s quite captivating but she has a boyfriend now anyway.’
If he’s anything like Spenny, we’re predicting A LOT of drama.
Fellow reality star Ferne McCann has also shown her support for the new lad, Tweeting: ‘Haha yes go on @akin_sc well excited to see you on #mic THIS BOY IS HILARIOUS.’
Well, we can’t wait to see how he gets on. Roll on the champagne!
