It sounds like the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here contestant found the show harder than he let on...
Adam Thomas might have been known for being the cheeky chappy on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, but he’s since revealed that he was often breaking down in tears once the cameras stopped rolling.
The Emmerdale actor made no secret of his fear of spiders whilst he was on the show, but soon became known for being ‘Mr Bushtucker Trial’ thanks to his fearless attitude towards the terrifying challenges.
However, in an interview with This Morning‘s Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield, the 28-year-old admitted that he used to ‘cry like a baby’ once the trials were over.
‘After the trials I’d literally break down and cry like a baby because it was just the fear’, Adam said. ‘I had never felt fear like it.’
‘Especially in the first one when I saw all the spiders’, the actor added.
Adam went on to explain that the circumstances often led to him feeling more emotional than he let on.
‘What you don’t see is that it’s like two o’clock in the morning and we’d have been waiting around for hour’, he said. ‘Even the last one with the spiders and just seeing them there in front of me, it was awful.
‘As soon as you walk of the set, literally every emotion comes flooding out. I’d be on my knees crying.’
We don’t blame him. Did you see the size of those spiders?!
Of course, having a one-year-old son, Ted, can’t have helped when it came to Adam’s emotions. And he admits that being away from his partner and child was seriously hard.
‘I never thought it would be that tough, if I knew it was going to be that tough I wouldn’t have signed up for it’, he said. ‘You’re out of comfort zone, missing home and missing your family, living with a bunch of strangers for three weeks.’
Well, we’re very glad you did,
