The final 10 minutes before you have to leave for work are pretty much No Man’s Land for anything productive actually happening. It would be insane to say that that final dash that you usually fill trying to find your keys and successfully choking on Crunchy Nut should be used to do little things around your house to make your life much easier.
With that in mind, let’s turn our attention to this great infographic from Amara that offers up 15 morning habits to make coming back home from work even better. You don’t need to do all of them but even getting one perfected will make that ‘through the door’ feeling even sweeter.
In their words: “‘I’ll deal with that later you say as you dash out the front door. But coming back to an untidy and disorganised home is no fun at all. Take 10 minutes out of your morning routine to create a home that is a delight to return to”.
Here are some of our favourite morning habits that yield the sweetest results:
- Tidy your bedroom: there’s nothing better to coming back to a spotless bedroom and until you’re on silly money, you won’t be able to afford a cleaner. The easiest way to make the room like better is by making the bed. It’ll instantly refresh and reorder the room and encourage more tidying.
- Kitchen stuff: You can’t really cook your dinner in advance (or can you?) but the next best thing is by collecting your ingredients and make it as easy as possible to just get in and get cooking.
- Curtains: This isn’t such a problem during the winters months because it gets dark at five anyway. However, coming home to a dark flat after a rubbish day at work isn’t going to make you feel any better.
