5 times we took workwear inspiration from Alexa Chung

Who better to turn to than the ultimate ‘it’ girl for style inspiration when it comes to every occasion?

Whether it’s black tie, off-duty or working hard, Alexa Chung is always working her signature style like a pro. Since her collection launched at M&S we’ve been ever more obsessed with the fashionista than normal.

We’re taking a look at 5 moments Alexa gave us great workwear inspiration, and made us want to overhaul our own wardrobes.

1. Fun

Get flirty but still formal in a pinafore dress layered over a simple blouse. Stick to a plain pinafore and then you can rock it with any kind of bright/patterned blouse. Team with tights to keep the cold at bay. It’s not summer just yet people!

2. Desk to drinks

Take your look from the boardroom to the bar with a simple velvet update, seen here teamed with a heeled boot. Alexa always knows how to look smart but not too try-hard – which is something we’re always trying to replicate.

3. Comfort

This jumpsuit means business, but is super comfortable at the same time. Invest in a good jumpsuit for fashion-forward workwear. A waist belt is the way to look sophisticated though and adds some structure – otherwise a more free-flowing jumpsuit can make you look wide.

4. Casual

For those days when you just need to wear jeans, dress them up with a smart grey blazer. Team with loafers or brogues for ultimate comfort. Also that blouse is *dying* amazing!

Alexa is giving classic office glamour in this pencil skirt and blouse combo. Perfect for whenever you need to look that little bit smarter for a big meeting or a job interview. Have you also noticed her mix of blues – so classic.
