It’s the little things throughout your day that make a difference, whether it’s your morning routine, or how you spend your lunch hour. From the minute you wake up, you’re on the go, and it’s easy to slip into a routine that isn’t the most conducive to a productive working day.
That’s why we’ve got these 5 easy changes you can make to your routine to ensure that you have a successful day every day of the week. Try them out and see if they help!
As soon as you wake up in the morning, drink water. Ensure that you drink 2 glasses of water within 30 minutes of waking up to get yourself hydrated. This makes up for the hours spent sleeping when you weren’t as hydrated as you need to be. You will feel more awake and alert instantly.
2. Listen to a podcast
Spend your commute listening to a podcast that will get your brain working. Even if you’ve just got 10 minutes, this will get you thinking and will wake you up. That way, your brain won’t have to go immediately into thinking about work, because you will have eased yourself in.
3. Drink green tea
Throughout the day, switch from your usual coffee to green tea. The green tea will keep you relaxed without causing tiredness, and won’t have the same potential anxiety-inducing effect that coffee can sometimes have.
4. Get outside
During your lunch break, take the time to head outside and go for a short walk. The time away from the office will be refreshing and will wake you up. Fresh air will help you to avoid the afternoon slump and will also stop you from feeling trapped inside. Consider taking some of your meetings outside for a change of scene.
