5 perfect winter warmers you NEED for the office in 2016

Christmas is over and the weather has turned. We were so not prepared to feel like this. But nothing cheers us up like some gorgeous knits.

Cue layers and layers of knitwear, multiple pairs of socks and maybe even some thermal knickers, as we attempt to brave the cold and fight the urge to go into hibernation.

Since you can’t very well rock up to work in your onesie, no matter how warm it is, you’ll have to find some fashionable alternatives that don’t leave you with icicles hanging off your nose. Not to be dramatic.

1. Grab a giant scarf

The go-to for many, the giant blanket scarf has been a winter essential in previous years. Layering up with one of these can keep you warm at your desk and be thrown on over every outfit.

2. The jumper dress

A knitted dress will provide warmth and style, so it’s a win-win situation! This look is simple but allows you to be warm and still presentable for work.

3. Layer up

Make like Alexa and invest in an oversized scarf over a classic winter coat. Invest in a classic winter coat, like Alexa’s in grey or camel, and wrap up tight. Don’t make my mistake from winter 2014, when I purchased a coat without buttons.

4. Oversized roll necks

Style queen Olivia Palermo knows seasonal dressing. This chunky knit with an oversized roll neck is perfect for warmth, so you can bundle up and brave the cold.

5. Play with proportions

You can keep cosy at the office by supersizing your look. Blogger Leandra Medine teams a baggy knit with grey culottes both of which can be worn for work. This look is ensuring maximum comfort, and layering on top will keep you warm throughout the day.
