It’s the weekend, hurrah! Time to shake off your stressful working week and have some fun. Now you’ve got time for a lie-in you can put a bit more effort into your wardrobe – that’s what weekends are for, after all.
I’ve identified 4 key moments of fashion that will feature in everyone’s weekend, taking you from Friday night to Sunday afternoon with ease. We’re turning to some of our favourite Instagram stars to examine the 4 fashion stages of the weekend.
1. Desk to drinks
It’s Friday night and you’re heading out for work drinks, maybe a leaving do. This means a speedy transition and you might not have much to work with. Heels might be a bit much, but accessories and a jacket change are everything in this situation.
Adding to this is your beauty look: a red lip is your friend in every occasion, now more than ever, and will add instant glamour and a face refresh. Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor offers up this statement look with leopard and furs, and a heeled boot to dress up her jeans.
Celebrate Saturday by indulging in brunch with friends. Your attire for that scrambled eggs and toast brekkie can be casual, but will involve more effort than your workwear style. Victoria from In The Frow has nailed the off-duty look with this casual and comfortable look.
3. Saturday Glam
Saturday night has rolled around and after a lazy day you are ready for a night out. Whether you’re going all-out with sequins and heels, or keeping it cool with jeans and boots, Saturday is the time to do you style-wise. Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad is giving us luxe weekend glamour in this backless sequin number, the perfect statement look for a big night out.

It’s Sunday and to put it lightly, you’re feeling a bit delicate. Last night’s festivities have taken their toll and all you have to remember it is your false eyelashes that were stuck to your cheek when you woke up. This fashion stage is not one for the outside world, but we are all familiar with it.
For some, it’s a fluffy dressing gown. For others, it’s simply some old pyjamas. Me, personally, I have leopard print tracksuit bottoms that I throw on during these emergency moments, teamed with a baggy top (also leopard). Either way, this phase of your weekend fashion is about comfort. There is no Insta-spiration for this because frankly, this is not a look that you will be photographing.
