We’ve heard some weird relaxing methods in our time but this has, at first glance, got to be one of the weirdest. We can assure you, however, the ‘beer shower’ in question is not the image you might have in your head of Margot Robbie hooking a keg of Fosters up to her water mains…
Australians have been innovating under the radar for decades and never ask for any credit. Without Aussie ingenuity we wouldn’t have the electric drill, the notepad, pacemakers, boxed wine, spray on skin and now the beer shower!
And, frankly, if you haven’t sipped on a frosty brew in the shower at the end of the long, hot working day then you’re adulting wrong. If Margot Robbie is out here publicising the benefits of beer showers instead of yoga, healthy eating and exercise then surely it’s something that’s worth giving a go!
After a maelstrom of terrible reviews for her latest movie, Suicide Squad, we bet Robbie is feeling pretty stressed about now. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the actor went into the restorative effects of cracking open a cold one in the shower.
She got the idea on the set of Tina Fey’s Whisky Tango Foxtrot from the leading-lady’s costume designer and has now let this new technique slide into the world! She said: “”I was like, ‘What’s a beer shower?’ She said she drinks an ice-cold beer in a boiling-hot bath or shower, and it made her sleep. I was like, ‘That sounds perfect!’ So now when I get home from work, I have a beer shower or a beer bath if I have time!”

This trend has really taken off and there’s now a pretty risqué subreddit dedicated to people sharing their beer shower moments – look at your own peril! We suppose the combination of hot water and cold beer makes for a refreshing experience. We’ll give it a try tonight, Robbie’s orders.
