Someone rather surprising has weighed in on Zayn Malik and Calvin Harris’s Twitter spat.
Conor Maynard has revealed that he unfollowed the ex-One Direction star after reading his and Calvin’s war of words. Eek!
The singer, 22, told Digital Spy: ‘Come up with better comebacks if you’re going to do it. The stuff he comes back with is just abysmal…
‘When he said to Calvin: “Calm down before your dentures fall out…” I genuinely unfollowed him because of that Tweet.’
So how did this all begin? Well, it kicked off when the former One Direction singer seemed to take a thinly veiled dig at Taylor Swift on his social media account.
The 22-year-old retweeted an image comparing the Blank Space singer to Miley Cyrus and using Taylor’s quote about her refusal to stream her music on Spotify, claiming: ‘The difference is astounding’.
Harris immediately leaped to his girlfriend’s defence, posting: ‘You’ve made your money? Cool… f*** the 99% of musicians who depend on these services to survive, right? Yeah f*** em.’
Calvin continued: ”If you don’t get what it means when a successful artist uses their celebrity to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry… then stay out of my f***ing mentions.’ Ouch.
But he wasn’t done there.
‘While u kids are refresh voting teen choice awards there’s some poor f***er in a basement making your new favorite record trying to survive,’ he added. ‘Meaning… stay out of things you don’t understand.’
Never one to take an insult lying down, Zayn replied with some fiery comments of his own.

‘@CalvinHarris ha you just made an absolute fool of yourself mate,’ he wrote. ‘You clearly don’t understand what I just said either. So I suggest you calm your knickers before them dentures fall out.’
Clearly not wanting things to get out of control, Calvin then played the mature card by trying to make up with the former boybander.
‘@zaynmalik all good, it was the quote not you personally mate’, he backtracked. ‘Best of luck, you’ve got a great voice.’
Still, Zayn only hit back harder, finishing off with a tweet reading: ‘Oh and I write my own s*** d***head’.
The timing of the spat is interesting, seeing as Taylor invited the Little MIx girls to perform with her on stage at her Santa Clara concert on Saturday.
And it sounded a little like Taylor may have joined in on the Zayn-shading when she described LM to the crowd with the words: ‘They are strong, they are beautiful and they have each other’s backs.’
Eesh. Well, at least Swifty knows her man’s got hers…
