UPDATE 22/3/17: There’s more! For spring/summer ’17, Zara has created a whole load of new ballet-inspired pieces, and we’re going to put it out there: this lot might be even better than the first.
Think waterfall wrap dresses, pretty bows and satin pumps.
And, as with last time, you certainly don’t need to be a pro ballerina to wear them. Take the bomber jackets; from jeans and a tee to flippy mini skirt and high-top trainers, the styling possibility is endless.
As for that graphic t-shirt and frock, they really will go with everything in your wardrobe.
Whatever you go for, you’ll look the most elegant you ever have, and what’s not to love about that?
18/7/16: Zara, oh how we love thee!
Season after season, the high street’s most style savvy store never fails to come up trumps with the must-have in wardrobe wonders. And of course AW16 is no exception.
Back in February, designers such as Valentino and Celine sent ballet-inspired pieces down the catwalk and our inner girlie-girls squealed with delight. Stirrup leggings, lace up ballet pumps and tulle skirts made for a romantic trend we could not wait to try. And now, thanks to Zara, we don’t have to.
Always only one very small step behind the designers, Zara has launched it’s own Ballet Collection, available on site RIGHT NOW. The luxe collection is made up of nude and black separates perfect for taking the dancewear to streetwear, and you’ll find it under the ‘Gymwear’ section. Wrap around tops, tulle dresses, sateen ballet flats and cropped tie jackets make up the beautiful collection, and while its perfect for the actual ballerinas out there, you don’t need to be a pirouette pro to rock it.

Take the nude tulle dress – perfect for a summer soiree – and the cropped tie jacket that will work just as well on any dancefloor. Team the new collection with your wardrobe favourites such as jeans and simple seperates to work this trend into your look now.
Being a ballet babe has never looked so good.
Bravo Zara, what a performance!
