What to wear in the wind

WATCH: What To Wear… In The Wind

Save yourself any unwanted Marilyn moments and watch our guide on how to look stylish whilst maintaining your modesty despite the windy weather

The bank holiday weekend is over, marking the official end of summer. *Sob.* Soon, we’ll be back to winter warmers, umbrellas -did we ever actually put them away?- and boots. But fear not! There’s still the chance for an Indian summer this September. But whilst we can bask in the sunshine whilst it lasts, we never truly escape the pesky wind.

We’ve all been there. Hands full with bags of shopping + a flowy skirt + a windy day = a very red face. Summer dressing and wind don’t go hand in hand but unfortunately the great British weather gives it to us anyway.

So, here at Look we decided to compile a fool proof guide on how to stay stylish in the wind. You need never worry about flashing your pants again. You can thank us later.

A heavy duty skirt is one of the key ways to save your modesty. Tweed is perfect for A/W so investing in this River Island beauty is a no brainer. It won’t fall fail to the wind and it’s bang on trend too. Winning. Wear with bare legs now and tights when the temperature cools. Classic loafers are the perfect way to finish off the look. We love these burgundy ones from Dune.

We are slightly excited – ok, a LOT excited – about boot season being around the corner. The high street are already awash with styles upon styles but it’s over the knee boots that are ideal for the windy weather. H&M’s high knee boots are a steal at just £49.99 and are perfect for keeping your legs covered and shielded against the wind. Snap ’em up before they’re gone.

Finally, jeans are the perfect windy-proof wardrobe choice. Topshop do a great selection of denim and we can’t get enough of these straight leg jeans. Wear dressed up or down, they will protect you whatever the weather. Jeanius.
