From simple maxi dresses that’ll make you ooze confidence (and make you feel 100% comfortable – bonus!), to girlie pastels and prints, there’s a beautiful wedding outfit here for you. We’ve even split it into categories for you…

Winter Wedding Guest Dresses

Winter needs warmth. Fact. But that certainly doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style.

It does mean you’ll have to put a bit more thought into what you wear if you don’t want to freeze, and there will be more fabric to think about, but the high street is chocka with just as many winter wedding guest dress options as there are summer wedding guest dresses.

Not everything has to change- if you suit long sleeves, go for a long-sleeved number, but if you don’t, stick to short-sleeved and add a cover-up. As for length, leave maxi dresses for summer boho vibes, and opt instead for midi or mini dresses. Team midi dresses with court shoes, or midi dresses with strappy stilettos.

And colour? Don’t shy away. High street offerings might not be as bright as they would be in summer, but don’t revert to black. If, however, winter is the one time you feel you can get away with going back to black, jazz your dress up with colourful accessories.

Summer Wedding Guest Dresses

With the cold spell behind you, it’s time to start thinking about bare legs. Bare legs, lighter fabrics and brighter colours.

You’ll still want to think about the practicalities- you’ll be wearing the same dress all day, so make sure you choose something comfortable as well as stylish.

Opt for breathable fabrics if it’s going to get hot during the day, and be aware how sleeve length might affect you.

The main difference with summer dresses is prints and colours. As mentioned, winter wedding guest dresses don’t need to be black/boring, but trends go with seasons, so it’s only natural for the high street to offer brighter patterned pieces. Make a statement in a floral number and keep it chic with muted accessories.
