Victoria Beckham broke from her normal style rules last night to work a plunging maxi dress to the Harper’s Bazaar Women Of The Year Awards. And we’re pretty taken with her sartorial detour.
We’re not saying VB plays it safe – from leather bombers to retro floral dresses and moss green midi skirts, the style guru has never been afraid to experiment, and it’s safe to say she can pull off pretty much anything.
But we’ve never seen the former Spice Girl rocking something to floaty and boho on the red carpet before.
Gone is the structured shift dress or form-fitting LBD, and taking its place a plunging ’90s-style Grecian gown complete with gold rope halterneck detailing. Oh, and huge pockets for a contemporary VB-style twist.
VB’s elegant frock hung loosely on her slim frame, perfectly showcasing her toned, tanned shoulders (thanks to an entire summer spent under the LA sun) and defined arms as she cosied up to legendary designer Diane von Fürstenberg for photos.
We’re also feeling Victoria’s chic half-up do, which saw her long brunette locks falling in casual mermaid waves down her back.
One thing that was familiar on the night was VB’s signature make-up look – a nude lip and dark, smokey eyes, plus her trusty bronzed glow.
The fashion designer was a guest of honour at the magazine bash at London’s Claridges, where she was on hand to present pal DVF with the Fashion Icon Award.
‘You’re the woman I want to be, and the woman every other woman in the room wants to be’, she told Diane upon presenting her with the accolade.
You know who we’d quite like to be today? VB in that dress. Swoon.
