You don’t get more glam than YSL, the opera and a slew of A-list beauties, so you can imagine our excitement when we clocked these delightful red-carpet pics today. Hollywood royalty donned their finest for last night’s hot soiree, the YSL-sponsored premiere of Le Comte Ory opera in New York. The attendees fell into two fashion camps, black and block colour, with Claire Danes, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen and Claudia Schiffer going for dramatic glamour. Claire Danes sparkled in an embellished floor-sweeper and Ashley Olsen just pipped her sister to the post in the wardrobe stakes with a chic midi dress and emerald stole. Although they both score major points for that to-die-for YSL postcard clutch. In the colour corner, Emmy Rossum and newcomer Rebecca Hall provided the spring brights, with jewelled belted gowns in jade and scarlet. It’s a wonder the audience could concentrate – we’d be on permanent celeb watch with this lot around.
