The Little Mix Ladies Prove Girl Power Isn’t Dead

It’s been decades since the Spice Girls sparked their musical movement.

But the latest girl group phenomenon is screaming the same motto – enter, Little Mix.

In their latest pop colour cover shoot for Wonderland magazine, the foursome talk all things female.

Jade explains, “When we were growing up, we had Destiny’s Child and The Spice Girls, but then there seemed to be a huge gap where there wasn’t really anyone around to inspire young women in the same way.”

Taking the mantle, this girl band sensation found fame on ITV’s The X Factor, after winning on the team of first-time judge and mentor Tulisa Contostavlos.

Their four year career has seen the girls grow from young teens to young women, and their fan base has evolved with them.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock explains how much an affinity with fellow girls means to them: It’s so refreshing to see females owning it right now. Girl power is what we’re about. It’s what we stand for as a group. We want to do everything we can to make women feel better about themselves.”

Jesy jumped in to extend this to body image – still one of the biggest issues to hit teens: We’ve had mums come up to us and literally thank us for making the music that we do, saying that, since listening to Little Mix, their daughters have been happier and more confident in themselves.”

The girls are fronting Wonderland‘s big spring fashion issue. Each sporting their own personal style, on a back drop of pop candy pink, the Little Mix ladies take on summer fashion in their own, fresh way.

Jade donned a cutesy cobalt mini dress, complete with grid print detailing, and a fun faux fur shaggy coat.

Jesy stuck to her rock ‘n’ roll style, rocking a PVC pencil skirt with croc embossing, and a slogan tee with the starlet’s name on it. Her deep purple locks were left tumbling either side of her face, with her arm tattoo on full display.

Leigh-Anne made like Jade and also chose a retro shift dress, but this time in mint green with extravagent jewelled embellishments and swarovski-style trim. Her signature curls were volumous for the perfect party look.

Perrie kept it pretty in pink, choosing a collared fuzzy jacket and a pastel skater skirt.

Ok. We’re ready for summer now.

And we’re also feeling to salute a peace sign in true female unison. Yes, Bunton!

GIRL POWER.
