The Grammys have officially kicked off in Los Angeles with the Grammy Premiere ceremony, which sees the majority of the awards being handed out before the major event kicks off at the Staples Center later on in the evening, local time.
So far, it’s big news for our girl Taylor Swift, who has been awarded with Best Pop Vocal Album for 1989. Jack Antonoff accepted the gong on behalf of the pop princess, who spoke out over the phone to hear her big news.
Tay Tay then took to social media to tweet, ‘@TheGRAMMYs I AM SCREAMING’. Aw, congratulations Swifty!
The Blank Space singer has also been nominated for a number of other Grammy awards (seven in total), including Record Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
We expect to see Taylor strutting her stuff on the red carpet later on, before opening the main event with a performance.
Also set to perform is Justin Bieber, who is said to be taking to the stage with collaborators Diplo and Skrillex to perform their Grammy-nominated song Where Are Ü Now.
Lady Gaga will also be performing a special tribute to the late music icon David Bowie, and Kendrick Lamar, who leads the pack with a whopping 11 nominations, will also take to the famous stage.
We’re counting down the hours until the main event. And we don’t know about you, but we cannot wait to see those frocks…
