After last week’s Twitter eruption, Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj have put their Bad Blood firmly behind them. But it seems that it won’t be so easy for Swifty to patch things up with her old BFF, and long-term fued partner, Katy Perry.
Fans went into a frenzy on Twitter after T-Swift had a special guest on stage with her during her latest performance. In the middle of singing her hit song Bad Blood, which is reputably a dig at Katy herself, a shark suit appeared on the stage.
Taylor laughed, but the crowd speculated as to whether this was another reference to her rival. After all, Katy famously danced with two sharks – who had amazing moves, by the way – at the Super Bowl.
We’re sure it was just harmless fun. But it hasn’t stopped everyone, once again, looking back over the pop singer’s colourful history.
After last week’s madness, Nicki Minaj has explained that her and Taylor Swift had a phone call after that Twitter misunderstanding in a new interview with Good Morning America. And don’t worry, as they had a good ol’ laugh about it all!
‘I spoke to Taylor Swift yesterday on the phone,’ the 32-year-old told the host. ‘She was super, super sweet. She apologised. She said, “I didn’t understand the big picture of what you were saying but now I get it.” We’re all good.’ Aw, we’re glad to hear it.
The Anaconda singer went on to say that everyone makes mistakes, and that Swifty’s gesture of getting in touch meant the world to her.
‘It takes a big person to do what Taylor did,’Nicki admitted. ‘Everyone sometimes speaks out of turn, I’ve been there. Sometimes we do things and we don’t think right away and we don’t investigate, we just talk.’

Nicki added: ‘So it was big of her to come out and say that. We spoke for a long time, we were cracking up laughing on the phone.
The star then told the audience: ‘It’s over you guys, I love you guys for supporting me.’
Taylor Swift ended up publically apologising to Nicki last week for that talked-about Twitter confrontation.
The Blank Space singer admitted she had got the wrong end of the stick by tweeting: ‘I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I’m sorry, Nicki.’
Thankfully, the rapper graciously accepted the apology, tweeting back: ‘That means so much Taylor, thank you.’ Aw.
Nicki added: ‘I’ve always loved her. Everyone makes mistakes. She gained so much more respect from me. Let’s move on.’
The whole drama, which unfolded on Tuesday, was heightened when Katy Perry joined in to aim a thinly-veiled tweet at Taylor, finally confirming that the pair are definitely not pals.
The 30-year-old singer took to make a snarky comment about Swifty, whom she has said to have had a feud with for years, and a tweet she’d posted the day before.
‘Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman…’ Katy wrote to her 72.9 million followers.
We know, it’s not the easiest tweet to understand. But it seems to be referring to everything that went down with Taylor’s Bad Blood video (thought to be based on Katy, who reportedly stole Taylor’s backing dancers a few years ago). Ouch.
Katy then dragged Rihanna into it, adding that ‘the real travesty’ was that her controversial B*tch Better Have My Money video was overlooked.
‘The real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/7/14-7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1… @MTV’, she tweeted.
So what was the origin of Katy’s tweet? Well, Nicki kicked things off by stating her disappointment that her songs Feeling Myself and Anaconda had been totally snubbed by the VMAs.
After ranting about the type of music that *does* always get nominated (Taylor’s Bad Blood earned a nomination for Video Of The Year), Minaj ended with a tweet that read: ‘If your video celebrates with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.’
It didn’t help that Bad Blood also broke Anaconda’s video streaming record earlier this year, and happened to feature a bevy of famous slim model beauties.
Taylor, who clearly thought the tweet was aimed at her, responded with: ‘I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.’
But Nicki seemed confused, insisting that she wasn’t actually talking about Swifty at all, but was merely making a general statement about the music industry.
‘Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn’t say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this’, she retorted.
What then followed was pretty awkward, leading Taylor to attempt to smooth things over with a follow-up tweet. ‘If I win, please come up with me!! You’re invited to any stage I’m ever on’, she wrote to Nicki.
Obviously, Nicki’s fans raced to her rescue. ‘@taylorswift13 stop using “support all girls” as an excuse to not be critical of racist media that benefits and glorifies you’, one fan wrote.
Nicki finished with a message for them: ‘I’m so glad u guys get to see how this stuff works. Taylor took her music off spotify and was applauded. We launched Tidal & were dragged’, she wrote.
But if you thought that was awkward, wait until you hear what happened next. Because Kim Kardashian then found herself accidentally involved.
The poor pregnant star was busy posting her sexy Vogue Spain pictures on social media whilst this argument was raging on, and innocently captioned one image: ”Imma let you finish but..’
Tonnes of people immediately thought she was siding with Nicki, but the 34-year-old star was quick to correct the rumours.
‘Wait wait I’m in Paris it’s the middle of the night & I’m posting my Vogue Spain pics not having a clue what’s going on in the music world’, she wrote. ‘I’m not trying to shade anyone! That’s not my style! I just thought that caption was perfect for that pic! Changing the caption now! #ironic.’
Oh goodness. What a night of total confusion!
But it seems Ed Sheeran isn’t taking his pal Taylor Swift‘s Twitter ruckus too seriously. As Ed’s joined in by having a jokey argument with Bruno Mars.
It was actually Bruno who got the faux-fight started, Tweeting: ‘Yo I want in on this twitter Beef!! VMAs is the new WWF!! @edsheeran F*** You!’
He then shared a fan’s HI-larious Photoshopped snap of the pair’s heads on WWE wrestlers’ bodies. He captioned the image: ‘SHOW YOURSELF!!! @edsheeran.’
Ed finally replied with the Tweet: ‘@BrunoMars any way we do dis you gon’ come up short,’ to which Bruno replied: ‘That Cut deep..U always know how to sheer me to the core. I can’t believe we’re Sheeran this in public. How dare u!’
Ed ended things by scribing the, er, catchy rhyme: ‘but all my crew know that Bruno has eyebrows dat be uno. And plays Cluedo with SuBo, but you lose coz you blow.’ Ding ding!
