Taylor Swift Has Been Named The Highest Earning Musician

While Taylor Swift and her beau Calvin Harris were named the world’s highest paid celebrity couple back in June, Tay Tay has just well and truly blown all that out of the water.

Yep, according to the Sunday Express, the 25-year-old songstress takes home a whopping $1 million a day (that’s £646,000 a day, £205.5 million a year and enough to feed a small country).

In short, Taylor is now officially the world’s highest-earning musician – and it’s all thanks to her 1989 tour, which made her $173 million or £112 million after 59 dates.

As for Calvin and Taylor, the pair stormed into the top spot, stealing the crown from Beyonce and Jay Z with combined earnings of a whopping $146 million over the last year. That’s a huge $35.5 million more than Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who came in second with just a mere $110.5 million. WOW, that’s some serious dollar.

Beyoncé and Jay-z Move over, there’s a new couple in town. Beyoncé and Jay-z are knocked off the top spot for highest paid celebrity couple

On top of their musical salary the talented couple both have lucrative endorsement deals to add to their annual income. Taylor is signed with Diet Coke, Keds and Sony whist Calvin works with Giorgio Armani and Sol Republic headphones.

Not content with all that, Taylor (or Queen Taylor as we should maybe call her now) most recently just took on the world’s largest corporation, Apple, causing a social media storm. In an open letter to the brand, Taylor stated she would be holding back her new album from its new streaming service because it turns out, the company wasn’t planning on paying any royalties to brands or artists during this period.

But because she’s kind of a big deal, it was no surprise Apple listened and back-tracked on its ideas. Taylor tweeted her final words on the argument recently saying ‘after the events of this week, I’ve decided to put 1989 on Apple Music…and happily so.’ Boyfriend Calvin also took to Twitter over the argument writing ‘I just played a gig inside a giant owl and my girl just changed the entire music industry what a day.’

Baring all that in mind, it’s not hard to see how bolshy Taylor has earned her status as the world’s highest-earning musician. You go girl.
