Taylor Swift doesn’t exactly play it safe in the outfit stakes, but she rarely wears anything really out there. Which is why everyone’s been talking about her latest edgy look.
The 25-year-old stepped out for lunch with her BFF Selena Gomez in LA wearing khaki shorts, a black t-shirt reading ‘THIS IS MY FIGHT SONG’ (a line from Rachel Platten’s Fight Song), brown shoe boots and, erm, a leather harness.
Obviously, Swifty looked amazing (loving the swishy blowdry), but we just can’t quite get our head around this unusual choice of accessory. Is this a new take on the equestrian trend? A bolder take on the body chain? Why the harness, Taylor, why?!
Well, after being inundated with the very same question from fans (with many even accusing her of wearing it backwards), the singer took to her Tumblr account to explain.
‘I think you’re ignoring a really important point here… That my harness and I are always ready for a zip line/rock climbing,’ the GRAMMY award winner wrote. ‘Ask yourself… Are you ready for extreme adventure should it present itself? HARNESS LIFE 2015.’
LOL. Didn’t really clear anything up, but we admire that tongue and cheek response from Swifty right there.
In other news, Taylor recently attended a lunch that could have been pretty awkward, seeing as her close pal Gigi Hadid is now dating her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas. Oh.
After hosting Jaime King’s baby shower, the Blank Space singer headed to trendy eatery Plan Check with the group, where Gigi and Joe sat cosily in one corner of the booth and Taylor sat right next to them, chatting away happily to the new couple. Aw. No hard feelings there then!

Taylor and Jonas only dated for three months back in 2008, but the break-up was enough for her to then go and write the heart-wrenching Forever And Always about him. Eek.
Joe’s always insisted they’ve remained friends though, telling Access Hollywood recently: ‘She’s great. We’re friends. I think in this industry, you meet a lot of people and you stay in touch.’
‘Obviously, it’s tough to be friends with people that are always constantly traveling, but yeah, we’re cool.’
It’s nothing but love in camp Swifty.
