Street Style: Toughen Up Your Maxi For A Couture-Inspired Hit

While our couture-induced swooning is almost off the charts, what with all the breathtaking gowns from Chanel, Dior, Armani and Valentino for us to marvel at, we’ve also been pretty taken with the FROW-goers’ sartorial selections. Most recently, we’ve become rather obsessed with Emma Watson’s Pre-Spring/Summer 2015 Valentino look, consisting of a leather jacket thrown over a black lace crop and maxi skirt. And it seems that our street stylers love it, too!

We spotted Frances Bacon zipping her Asos biker over her contrasting print maxi from Topshop. We love how her cover-up offsets the delicate florals, and her tan sandals strike the balance between the two perfectly. Alternatively, you could opt for pointed courts à la Emma for after-hours glam – her pop of Valentino red is nothing short of perfection.

The best bit is that this is a low-maintenance look with maximum impact. If you’re rocking a skirt, simply wear it with a plain tee or crop top underneath your leather, or zip it up over a dress for a total two-in-one winner. We can guarantee your couture invitations will come flooding in. OK, maybe not, but at least you’ll look haute…
