Street Style: Make Statement Maxis Your Summer Saviour

Maxi dresses have undoubtedly been our summer style safety net for years now, but recently they’ve also become an easy, quick way to get our fashion fix. We’ve been wearing ours with tights and layers for so long now though, that we’ve almost forgotten how to manage maxis for warmer weather. Thanks to these street stylers, however, we’ve got some serious inspo to be getting on with.

As you might have noticed, we’re seriously crushing on palm prints right now. It’s shaping up to be the I
t-print of the summer, and blogger Naomi Rowland is way ahead of the curve in her Bill + Mar T-shirt maxi dress. We love the way she’s layered her cut-out Topshop bralet over the top for a twist, along with her Choies harness belt and statement necklace from Chelsea Doll. The addition of her on-trend round sunnies make this look a day-to-night winner. We also fell head over heels for Mags Yips’s white halterneck number from Rare London, worn with a vintage hairband for simple, understated elegance.

The key here is to choose flattering silhouettes that don’t swamp you – make like Naomi and cinch in your waist with a stylish flourish. Or try loose, flowing fabrics à la Mags for feminine flair, and hey presto, your summer style is sorted. Shop the looks below and have your own maxi moment.
