Street Style: How To Look Perfect In Top-To-Toe Pastels

The sweetest trend for SS14 has undoubtedly been pastel pieces in the dreamiest of candy colours. From Calvin Klein to Burberry, these sorbet shades have caused a stir on and off the catwalk, and the likes of Rosie Fortescue and Caroline Issa – as seen in this week’s Look magazine – have recently upped the ante with their top-to-toe powdery palettes.

Make like blogger Edwige Malembe in her Zara separates and keep lines clean and fuss-free. Her ladylike skirt and coat combo are the grown-up way to do pastels, topped off with a minimalist pair of River Island sandals. Or dress your sorbet shades down like Jansell Gillian and work in your favourite pair of ripped denims. The addition of a blue Zara biker ensures she steers clear of saccharine territory, but keeps the sweetness with a sugary pink Asos shirt.

We even spotted Sarah Gabbatiss sporting a confection of candy colours on her nail art, nailing (sorry) two trends at once with her paisley prints. That’s it, we’re sold. We’re off to deck ourselves out in the softest palettes we can find. Just remember to go for similar shades, and keep accessories fairly neutral. You don’t want to have a fashion colour-crash…
