Street Style: Four Ways To Work Florals

You’d think that being faced with a landslide of bloom prints every single summer would mean we’re ready to grab the weedkiller and swear off botanicals for life. Even Miranda Priestly lamented their relentless spirit in The Devil Wears Prada, “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking,” she sighed sarcastically, a look in her eye of a woman who’s seen one chrysanthemum too many. Call us bright-eyed and bushy-tailed optimists, however, but we still bloody LOVE a flower-strewn motif. Nothing heralds spring’s arrival in quite the same way, as aptly demonstrated by these blogger beauties.

They don’t have to be twee, either – just look at Lilly-Jo’s grunge overhaul of her bold bloom top from It’s Vintage Darling. White denim from Boohoo, low-slung and distressed to death, shows that pretty and punky can play happily together. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Laura gets all Club Tropicana on us with an eye-popping jumpsuit and matching heels from Very.

Oskana’s preppy spin on her floral pencil skirt from H&M involves a cable-knit cardie and super-sensible boot and backpack combo. We’re sure Alexa would approve. And need a lesson in breezy summer style? We’re loving Deborah’s floaty Toppers jumpsuit, accessorised with Primark shades, sneakers and an I-don’t-care air.

Well done ladies, that Priestly woman doesn’t know what she’s on about.
