Got London Fashion Week FOMO? Want in on the action? Now you can, with River Island’s latest Design Forum collaboration with up-and-coming designer, Liz Black. It’s previously brought us collaborations with LFW favourites including Katie Eary and Eudon Choi, making their designs open to a whole host of new, stylish, high-street buyers.
But what of the new collab? Is it worth investing in? Oh yes. After graduating from Central St. Martins in 2010, Liz set up her own luxury womenswear label and has since caught the eye of Roland Mouret, when she was selected as a semi-finalist for the Fashion Fringe Awards in 2011. This year she was nominated in the ‘Creative Excellence’ category at the Scottish Fashion Awards and Lady Gaga is already a fan. Phew!
To get yourself a little bit of LFW style on the cheap, hit up River Island for a piece from her nine-strong capsule collection. After a launch at London Fashion Week on Monday at the British Fashion Council Fashion Film event in London, we think this collection is worth the hype (and then some). From faux-fur details to leather looks and power dressing, we’ve got weekend style sorted. You’re welcome.
