Sewing Cafes: The Next Big Thing?

If you fancy yourself as the next Vivienne Westwood or Stella McCartney, then listen up – we’ve just discovered a new fashion revolution, sewing cafes! London College of Fashion graduate Lisa Comfort, who has worked for designers including Bruce Oldfield and Phillipa Lepley, has opened her very own sewing café, Sew Over It, in South London. Pop along to one of the classes, where you’ll get expert guidance on making anything from cardigans to cushions, use of all fabrics and machinery, as well as scrummy tea and cakes. We’re signing up for the Mad Men dress course. Watch out, Stella – with sewing lessons from as little as £5 an hour, you’ll have red-carpet competition! To book a session, call 020 7326 0376. HE
