Each season, Rochelle Humes designs a knockout collection for Very.co.uk with amazing pieces to see us through whatever occassion we need. This time around, we’re crushing on her mega-printed wonders and button-down suede skirts which have us wishing the summer away already. We chatted to her about her the inpspiration behind her latest collection, her fave new trends and what she’s got in store for the future.
What was the inspiration behind your latest collection? Where do you look for inspiration?
I looked at a lot of old 70s/boho fashion and came up with my own designs with my own take on the trend.
How is your fashion taste developing as you design? Are you finding yourself watching more catwalk shows/looking for inspiration in other designers? And has it affected how you choose your own wardrobe?
I do watch more catwalk shows now but I would say I much prefer looking on Instagram and Pinterest for ideas. I’m much more aware of trends and street style now.
What are your favourite trends for the new season?
Colourful faux fur. I’ve got a great teal cropped faux-fur coat in my collection coming out in November to fall into this trend.
What’s your fave item in your summer wardrobe?
Any maxi dress. They are great for throwing on when you are in a rush and require little thinking.
What’s the number one item you always pack for your summer holidays?
A jumpsuit. You can really dress it up or down depending on what you are doing that day. At night I’d wear it with a slick ponytail, strappy heels and gold jewellery.

If you could describe your new collection in one word, what would it be?
Your catwalk show was amazing last season, how did you feel when took your bow?
So proud and so excited. I had such a good day from start to finish it was amazing to showcase my designs on models to press, friends and family.
What’s the best piece of style advice you have been given in your career?
Wear what you like and what you want to wear. Don’t ever feel pressured into wearing trends. Wear what you feel comfortable in.
What’s next? Any exciting plans in the works you can share with us?
Oh gosh. Lots of stuff. Back doing Ninja Warrior, back at This Morning during the summer plus lots more clothes for Very. Plus The X Factor.
