American fashion fans are in for a treat, as Primark is officially set to go Stateside.
Primark owners Associated British Foods have gained leases to seven stores in the USA, including one in New York.
The purse-friendly fashion mecca will open stores in Philadelphia and NYC as well as Boston, with hopes their US takeover will be as successful as those in Spain, France and Germany.
‘After extensive research, it has been decided to take the [Primark] concept to consumers in the USA,’ Associated British Foods said in April, when it acquired its first store in Boston.
And the Stateside takeover won’t end there, as Primark is hoping to expand with a further 10 stores in the next two years.
In other words, the UK’s long-kept affordable fashion secret is about to go stratospheric.
As if we needed another excuse for that long-awaited trip to New York. Oops.
