Daraine Mulvihill won't let her disability stop her achieving her dream

Everyone here at LOOK has found the London Paralympics truly inspirational and so it was a no-brainer to feature Daranine Mulvihall's amazing story in this week's magazine.

After sadly losing her limbs due to meningitis at the age of 16, Daranine didn't let it stop her achieving her dream of becoming a TV presenter for the Paralympics and it seems her story has touched people across the country.

Chief Executive of Meningitis UK, Kate Rowland, wrote to us to tell us how much she enjoyed the article, saying: "Everyone at Meningitis UK was touched to read that Daraine 'did not wallow' and is a true inspiration. It is amazing to hear that she was named Irish Person Of The Year and most recently a Channel 4 Paralympics presenter among other achievements."

We couldn't agree more and want to say a big thank you to Kate for getting in touch.

It's important to know the facts about meningitis so if you'd like some more information call Meningitis UK on 0117 947 6320 or visit www.meningitisUK.org
