Michelle Keegan On Her Most Treasured Fashion Item

Michelle Keegan is LOOK’s cover girl this week. And she’s been telling us about getting red-carpet ready (nope, she doesn’t like it) and naming her most treasured possession (you’ll never guess what it is…!) Over to you, lady!

What essential item do you carry with you at all times?

Sunglasses! You never know what the weather is going to be like in London! I also like to carry my very embarrassing childhood jumper [Michelle holds it up] I’ve had it since I was 14 and it makes me feel comfortable and at ease. I even sleep with it.

Er, does Mark [Wright] not get jealous?

He’s actually really sweet. If I lose it in my sleep, or it goes over to his side he passes it back to me. It gives him comfort knowing that I’ve got that with me at all times because then he knows that I’m settled and comfortable.

Has it got a name?

Yes, it’s called Fluff.

Who is your favourite designer?

That’s a hard one, as I never normally wear head-to-toe designer. Normally, I wear high street clothes with designer shoes, coats or handbags. My favourite handbags are Chanel, they’re just such classics. I’m obsessed with Sophia Webster shoes too.

Do you enjoy getting ready for big events?

No. I like to be quite chilled and I just get really stressed. I don’t really like the red carpet, it really terrifies me, everyone thinks it’s going to be amazing but when you get out there it’s just horrible. Once the red carpet part is out of the way, I can breathe again.

How do you prep beforehand?

I look at the dress, have it fitted, trial lots of options and then from there I’ll sit with the hairstylist and make-up artist to come up with a plan.

We saw you at lots of LFW catwalks this year, do you enjoy seeing the shows?

I was never able to make the time to come to the shows when I was in Corrie so this was my first fashion week and I’ve really enjoyed it

Who’s is your favourite person sit next to on the front row?

I know this sounds really cheesy, but I have to say Mark. He’s really sweet. I thought he’d just come along to look at the models, but really he’s looking at the clothes and always whispers in my ear when he think something will look good on me. And then we sort of treated it like a date night afterwards and went for a nice meal.
