Madonna’s BRITs Cape Fail Explained… By Giorgio Armani

Think of the 2015 BRIT Awards. Which moment springs to mind first? Could it be Madonna‘s catastrophic stage fall perhaps? Yep, we thought so.

Well, just as we (and Madonna) had begun to forget about the whole eye-squinting incident, the designer of #thecape, Giorgio Armani, has spoken out.

After the legendary sonsgstress was pulled off the stage by one of her dancers when she failed to undo her high-fashion cover-up, we all felt for her. But it seems the Italian designer wasn’t so sympathetic…

‘This cape had a hook and she wanted a tie, and she wasn’t able to open it with her hands. That’s all there is to it. Madonna, as we all know, is very difficult,’ he said.

Eesh. Well, Madonna herself has also shared her retrospective on the epic awards ceremony accident, telling Jonathan Ross on his chat show earlier this week:

‘Everybody was worried that my cape was going to slide off because it’s quite heavy, so they tied it really tight around my neck,’ she said.

‘So here I am marching in like a queen, and I got to the top of the stairs and I pulled my silky string, and it would not come undone. And my two lovely Japanese dancers basically strangled me off the stage. I had a choice: I could either be strangled or fall with the cape, and I fell.’

So who’s fault was it? The cape’s fault, in a nutshell. We don’t imagine Madge will be slipping into another one of those any time soon…
