Caitlyn Jenner has always praised Kim Kardashian as the one who has helped her find her 'glam' since transitioning. But her latest comments might not go down well with Kim...
In a recent Q&A and the Makers Conference in California, the 66-year-old majorly slammed Kim's infamous Met Gala dress by calling it 'ugly'. Eesh, don't hold back then!
'I don’t know if you remember her, when she was pregnant with the first one, little North, she had this flowery outfit on that went from head to toe', Caitlyn told the crowd. 'I don’t know, it still pops up its ugly head every once in a while, you know?'
Kim's high-neck floral Givenchy gown made headlines at the time, with tonnes of people laying into the star's outfit choice and comparing it to 'grandmas curtains'. Which Kim later revealed really hurt her.
Probably why, then, Caitlyn decided to quickly backtrack after her latest dig, adding about the dress: 'Actually it’s kind of nice.'
One star who recently leapt to Kim's defence over that dress saga is Jaime King, who admitted that she 'couldn't stop crying' after seeing the response Kim's OTT baby bump blooms got on social media.
'I remember going back in my hotel room and crying for like five hours because I kept seeing all these things come up online, all of these horrible pictures and GIFs,' the 35-year-old, who was pregnant with her second child at the time, told ELLE.
'Here was this beautiful glowing pregnant woman who is probably so excited to be attending the Met ball for the first time with the man that she loved… And she has a beautiful growing child inside of her, and yet everybody bashed her and called her a whale or said she looked like a couch or drapes.'
The 33-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, who at the time was heavily pregnant with North, had everyone talking about her high-neck, long sleeved dress (which even boasted built-in gloves) as she hung off the arm of then-fiance Kanye West.
So what did King to about it? Well, she took to Instagram last week to post an unretouched picture of herself pregnant, wearing only her underwear. The caption read: 'My body. My growing baby, open for comments. Plain as day. I, like every other woman, bracing for your judgments. This is who I am. And I love me in every flaw and curve or flat or thin area. And I love you as well in every form that your body takes.'
Jaime explained: 'I wanted to really empower other woman in knowing that hey, yeah, you know what? I am very thin but I’m pregnant and I feel beautiful and I feel grateful that I have a child growing inside of me, and I love every little piece of me because if I don’t love myself, who’s going to love myself?'
We love this solidarity. And rest assured, Kim's over her Met Gala criticism too, recently admitting about her look: 'I had these gloves and this whole floral print and I loved it. 'I thought it was so cool and it got a lot of criticism and I didn't care because I really loved it.'
Definitely no regrets there.
