KFC are trialling a new date-night table service

If, like us, the thought of spending Valentine’s Day at some pretentious French gaff surrounded by sickeningly loved up couples makes your skin crawl, this one’s for you.

None other than fast-food massive KFC has just announced the launch of a special date-night table service just in time for the big day. We KNOW.

The restaurant chain is trialling the service this V day at Fishergate in Preston, with plans to roll it out nationwide next year – eek!

So you’re probably wondering what on earth comes with such an experience…

Well, the KFC date-night includes linen napkins, flowers, a silver candelabra and even your own soft drink sommelier to wait on you hand and foot.

Now THAT’S what we’re talking about.

Customers will no longer have to queue up for service at KFC thanks to their new date-night table service

The news comes after a study revealed that 38% of couples prefer a laidback meal over a fancy dinner (us included, in case you’re wondering lads).

The research also found that the average Brit forks out a measly £13 on their other half come Valentine’s Day (we’re a romantic bunch, aren’t we?!).

In other words, whether we want to admit it or not, the KFC date-night ticks ALL the boxes.

As well as all that, the study found that 50% of 18-24 year olds would like to receive a Valentine’s Day surprise this year – we don’t know about you but table service at our local KFC is one way to spend Valentine’s Day we most definitely wouldn’t expect.

Don’t get your hopes up, though – it’s only the lucky Prestonians that’re in with the chance of having what could well be the best Valentine’s Day of their lives this year.

In the meantime, we’ll be calling upon Cupid to cast his love spell over the rest of the nation’s KFCs. Pleeeease?
