Jason Wu Makes His Hugo Boss Debut At NYFW

Jason Wu, the New York designer loved by the likes of Michelle Obama and Diane Kruger, unveiled his debut collection for Hugo Boss at New York Fashion Week yesterday – and his celebrity devotees were out in full force to support him. Diane sat in prime position on the FROW, along with Hugo Boss perfume poster girls Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon, before cosying up to Jason post-show.

Newly appointed artistic director Wu aims to bring direction to the brand, something he definitely achieved with this first offering. Inspiration came from Boss’s background in menswear tailoring, with structured suits – of both the skirt and trouser varieties – and overcoats featuring heavily. The boyish vibe was balanced out with slip dresses, metallics and flashes of pretty embellishment – a signature in Wu’s own line.

Pointed flats (also spotted at Victoria Beckham and Proenza Schouler) topped things off, cementing their status as the AW14 ‘It’ shoe. There’s loads on the high street right now if you want to get in on it early, FYI.

Fancy a sweepstake on which one of Wu’s celeb fans steps out in a catwalk look first?
