Gigi Hadid is unstoppable. Not only has she conquered the catwalk to become one of the most in-demand runway models of 2015, she’s also made a name for herself as an A-lister, attending the hottest events and parties on the Hollywood calendar.
However, not content with dominating the modeling world, it looks like the 20-year-old super has set her sights on designing her own clothes. And she’s bagged a pretty good partner to do it with.
The New York Times has revealed that Gigi is teaming up with none other than Tommy Hilfiger – the label that’s championed her from the start – to create her own collection.
‘We’re creating a line called Gigi by Tommy Hilfiger, using her style, her sense, her social media presence as the top supermodel in the world today.’
As it turns out, Gigi is just as excited about this partnership, revealing ‘I ended up staying an extra five hours the first day. I think they were surprised I was that into it.’
Gigi also got real about the modelling profession, revealing that it’s ‘not the hardest job in the world.’
So, could designing her own range be the challenge she’s been waiting for? Considering she dreamed of becoming a forensic scientist before her modelling career took off, we reckon she’ll give this task her all.
The collection is set to land in autumn next year – by which point Gigi will already be the face of Tommy Hilfiger’s main, footwear, watches and perfume lines.
So yep, it looks like 2016 is going to be Gigi’s year.
